Reflexology & Pregnancy
Reflexology & Pregnancy
Reflexology is safe and beneficial during your whole pregnancy.
Reflexology during the first trimester supports healthy digestion and hormonal balance which brings relief to the nausea and sometimes vomiting, or otherwise known as "morning" sickness. Other early pregnancy benefits include soothing the nervous system, feeling relaxed and grounded, as well as improved sleep. As a result of feeling more relaxed and rested, you'll notice a shift in your energy levels and capacity to handle daily tasks with more ease.

The second trimester is when you'll often be feeling you're energy levels rise. Typically nausea eases off and having the first trimester behind them, a lot of parents feel their fears and anxieties surrounding the risk of a loss decreased or gone. Receiving reflexology during the second trimester is looked at a holistic preventative approach to staying healthy. Maintaining healthy blood pressure, hormonal balance, healthy liver and kidney function are all benefits to getting reflexology while pregnant.

Most of the conditions that occur during pregnancy tend to show up in the third trimester. Many of these conditions are associated with the liver. Stimulating the liver during reflexology provides support to the liver and helps the body with a gentle detoxification. Reflexology can provide relief to swollen feet and ankles in late pregnancy, as well as heart burn can be relieved from gentle digentive system support from sessions.

Reflexology is an amazing way to prevent the manifestation of pregnancy conditions in early pregnancy, but is also an effective way of managing the symptoms of conditions that come up.
Sessions are typically done from my healing room in London, Ontario, but I also provide sessions in other settings like in your home - I even provide sessions for pregnant clients during labour if requested!
